Dial Phone from Outlook

Dial Phone From Your Mail

If you have a modem connected to a voice telephone line, you can use Microsoft Outlook to dial any phone number you specify.

Before Outlook can make phone calls for you, you must set up your computer and a modem for automatic phone dialing. Then Outlook can dial phone numbers you specify, including phone numbers for contacts in the Outlook contacts list.

If you make frequent calls to particular phone numbers, you can create a speed dial list of those phone numbers and quickly make calls from the list. Or you can select a phone number from a list of numbers you recently dialed.

If you use your computer at different locations, you can set up dialing parameters for alternate locations. You can set up calling card use, specify how phone numbers are dialed from the current area code, and specify what number is to be dialed to reach an outside line for local or long distance calls from within a company or hotel. For each location entry, you can turn off call waiting and can select tone or pulse dialing.

If you want to automatically time a call and type notes in Outlook while you talk, you can set an option before you start the call to create a journal entry for the call in Journal. For example, you may want to use this option if you bill clients for your time spent on phone conversations.

Make a telephone call
Call a person in the contacts list
  • In Contacts, click the contact you want to call.
  • On the Actions menu, point to Call Contact, and then click the phone number you want to dial.
  • Click Start Call.
  • Pick up the phone handset, and then begin your conversation.
  • Click End Call, and then hang up the phone.
Call someone not in the contacts list
  • In Contacts, on the Actions menu, point to Call Contact, and then click New Call.
  • To have Microsoft Outlook look for a number in the contacts list, enter a name in the Contact box.
If the name is in the Outlook contacts list and you've previously entered a phone number for it, click the phone number in the Number box.

If the name is not in the Outlook contact list or does not have a phone number already, enter the phone number in dialable format or in international format in the Number box.
  • Click Start Call.
  • Pick up the phone handset, and then begin your conversation.
  • Click End Call, and then hang up the phone.
  • Redial a recently called number
In Contacts, on the Actions menu, point to Call Contact, point to Redial, and then click the number you want to call.
  • Click Start Call.
  • Pick up the phone handset, and then begin your conversation.
  • Click End Call, and then hang up the phone.
Notes:
To keep a record of the call in Journal, select the Create new journal entry when starting new call check box prior to clicking Start Call. A journal entry opens with the timer running. You can type notes in the body of the journal entry while you talk. When you are finished with the call, click Pause Timer to stop the clock, and then click Save and Close.

If you omit the country code and area code from a phone number, the automatic phone dialer uses settings from the Dialing Options dialog box (on the Actions menu, point to Call Contact, click New Call, and then click Dialing Options).

If you include letters in the phone number, they are not recognized by the automatic phone dialer.

Sound Driver in Laptop Acer Aspire 4315

      Install Windows XP

To install windows XP on Laptop Acer Aspire 4315 sometimes get problem, after all windows program install in this laptop then we install driver for this laptop like for networking, driver for VGA graphic and driver for sound card.

Actually this laptop is recommended to install Windows Vista, because the driver itself is Vista compatible. When we try to install others Windows program the some driver are not run well.
The first time I install Windows XP Packed 3 and sound is run well, after I install office 2003 then I just realize that the speech program in the windows don’t appear, so the speech program in the office can’t running. When I open the control panel and look to the system device, there is a problem on PCI bus, this is one of the sound card components, the driver of this device is not installing perfectly.

When Install again a sound card driver is not overcomes the problem, then I decided to remove Windows again. Then install again windows XP packed 3, but the problem is more serious, even there is no sound after sound driver installs.

We can’t uninstall soundcard driver from sound device, to uninstall this driver should follow the procedure below:

We can’t remove or update the Realtek HD Audio device from the device manager.
If you have previous installation of the Realtek HD Audio driver then uninstall it first.
Open control panel, then Add/Remove programs, click on Realtek High Definition Audio driver and click remove button.

      Install Sound Driver

After uninstalling the Realtek High Definition audio driver, Open the Device Manager and look for the Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio, Disable it and then remove. You will not be able to remove this device if you will not going to disable it first.

After you uninstall this Realtek High Definition Audio driver, install again the Realtek High Definition Audio driver from other resources like from Asus Motherboard resources CD, or other version of Realtek High Definition in Audio driver. If your driver is compatible with your windows XP, usually your soundcard will run.

For activated speech function, you may install update your windows XP packed with new version like Windows XP 2. After your windows install for update usually speech function will run normal.

How you can share your outlook calendar

You cannot open a shared Outlook folder from a sharing invitation that you receive from another Outlook user.

In the Outlook mailbox that is located on an Exchange Server, you receive a message from a user who uses Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 or Microsoft Office Outlook 2010 that is connected to Exchange Server. The message invites you to view one of the user’s shared Outlook folders. However, the message does not have an option that enables you to access the shared Outlook folder. In this case, you cannot open the shared Outlook folder that the user shared to you.

This behavior occurs if the sender of the sharing invitation is running Outlook 2007 or Outlook 2010 and the recipient of the sharing invitation is running an earlier version of Outlook.

You can use one of the following two methods to work around this problem without having to upgrade the earlier version of Outlook.

      - Use "Method 1: Open default Outlook folders" if you are invited to view any of the following default Outlook folders:
      • Calendar
      • Contacts
      • Inbox
      • Journal
      • Notes
      • Tasks
      - Use "Method 2: Open nondefault Outlook folders" if you are invited to view a folder that is not one of the default Outlook folders that are mentioned here.

Method 1: Open default Outlook folders
If you are invited to view a default Outlook folder, the words "Microsoft Exchange" will appear before the name of the folder in the sharing invitation. For example, if the sender shares the Contacts folder, the name of the folder is "Microsoft Exchange Contacts" in the sharing invitation.

To open a default Outlook folder, follow these steps:
      1. In the sharing invitation, notice the name of the Outlook folder that you want to view.
      2. On the File menu, point to Open, and then click Other User's Folder.
      3. In the Open Other User's Folder dialog box, type the name of the user who owns the folder in the Name box, click the name of the Outlook folder that you noticed in step 1 in the Folder type box, and then click OK.

You will notice that the shared Outlook folder appears in the Outlook folder list pane.
If you receive an error message or cannot open the shared folder after you follow these steps, contact the sender of the sharing invitation to make sure that you have at least the Reviewer permissions to the shared mailbox on the Exchange Server.

To give you the Reviewer permissions to the shared mailbox, the owner of the shared folder can follow these steps:
      1. Follow the appropriate steps:
      • In Outlook 2007, right-click Mailbox - UserName, and then click Change Sharing Permissions.
      • In Out look 2010, right-click Mailbox - UserName, and then click Folder Permissions.
      2. Click the Permissions tab, and then click Add.
      3. In the Add Users dialog box, specify the user who you want to share the folder to, click Add, and then click OK.
      4. In the Name list, click the name of the user who you added, click Reviewer in the Permission Level box, and then click OK.

Method 1 Video: How to open default Outlook folders shared by other users
Method 2: Open nondefault Outlook folders

You can view the nondefault Outlook folders just as easily as you can view the default Outlook folders. If you are invited to view a nondefault folder, the words "Microsoft Exchange" will not appear before the folder name in the sharing invitation.

To open a nondefault Outlook folder, follow these steps:
      1. In Outlook, click E-mail Accounts on the Tools menu.
      2. In the E-mail Accounts dialog box, click View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then click Next.
      3. Click your Exchange Server account, and then click Change.
      4. Click More Settings.
      5. In the Microsoft Exchange Server dialog box, click the Advanced tab, and then click Add.
      6. In the Add Mailbox dialog box, type the name of the owner of the shared folder, and then click OK.
      7. Click OK, click Next, and then click Finish.
      8. In the navigation pane, expand Mailbox - UserNameOfFolderOwner, and then click the folder that the user shared to you.
If you receive an error message or cannot open the shared folder after you follow these steps, contact the sender of the sharing invitation to make sure that you have at least the Reviewer permissions to the sender’s shared mailbox on Exchange Server.

To give you the Reviewer permissions to the shared mailbox, the owner of the shared folder can follow these steps:
      1. Follow the appropriate steps:
      • In Outlook 2007, right-click Mailbox - UserName, and then click Change Sharing Permissions.
      • In Outlook 2010, right-click your email address at the top of the folder list, and then click Folder Permissions.
      2. Click the Permissions tab, and then click Add.
      3. In the Add Users dialog box, specify the user to whom you want to share the folder, click Add, and then click OK.
      4. In the Name list, click the name of the user whom you added, click Reviewer in the Permission Level box, and then click OK.
